As reported, the RCMP have suspended their 12 day search to locate Tyler. We are very grateful for the immense effort by the volunteers at Search & Rescue. They have sacrificed a great deal personally to help us determine Tyler's whereabouts. However, he has not been found yet and we have chosen as a family to continue the search to locate Ty privately.
The search teams have been able to confirm that Ty has been in specific areas along the Fools Gold Trail, but have been unable to continue to locate his tracks. The area is very dense and vast and the searchers have indicated that they could have easily walked right past him without notice, due to the terrain.
For those who have met Ty, would know that he is a super passionate person and is not a quitter. He is physically strong and resourceful and we believe that he is still
out there waiting for us. Tyler would not quit on any one of us and we will not stop searching until he is found.
We are overwhelmed with the amount of emotional and financial support from family, friends, and perfect strangers that have allowed us to continue our private search. We are only beginning to understand the number of lives that Ty has touched.

Is there anything we can do for the family beyond pray, watch videos and donate? We adore Tyler and agree that he would not give up the search if we were lost instead of him.
ReplyDeleteWe do not know Tyler personally but are praying for his safe recovery. May God give him strength, wisdom and much courage!
ReplyDeletehugs to you all....
ReplyDeleteso are there posters or anything at the head of Indian Arm and Pitt Lake? I am amazed and saddened at how many people have still not heard about Ty and him being missing. Is there someone at Wigwam Inn all the time?
How about at Pitt Lake...year round residents do they all know?
Also is it possible to have a map published of exactly 'where' he started and clues found at certain spots?
Also what happened when the dogs came in to look? Could they not find a scent at all???Was that because there was a time delay?
blessings.
A few of us gathered at church tonight to pray strategically. Let's pray into this ... that Tyler would be released from the mountains so that he can walk out or that he'd be found... that whatever is covering him and hiding him would be broken off of him in Jesus name, that the light of Christ be powerfuly seen through Tyler that he's seen brightly in the darknesses in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who conquered sin and death.

ReplyDeleteThinking of Tyler, the searchers, friends and family. Praying for his safe return! xo
ReplyDeleteOur family loves Tyler and we are so looking forward to him being found. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do.
ReplyDeleteI offered the services of my air-scenting wilderness dog last week, and apparently search management declined. There are plenty such dogs available in the Pacific Northwest, but few in BC. The SAR managers understand the situation better than I, so we have to defer to them.
ReplyDeletePlease, could someone check out the following video - 58th second?
ReplyDeletehttp://vimeo.com/14365360
look at second 58 on the bottom right something looks like it could be a shelter, and left to that is a black shade that could be the size of a human.
Is there going to be a ground search soon for just volunteers maybe start at pitt lake or golden ears? Cant believe the rcmp would give so soon with all those clues. Feel horrible for the family.
ReplyDeleteDaniel...SARS is no longer involved. I have another friend that offered high tech search equipment and SARS declined that as well. SARS is not involved so IF the family is searching that might be wonderful for them use your air scenting dog. We are all very hopeful Tyler will come out himself within the next couple of days.
ReplyDeleteI hope the family continues to update on this site. They are definitely in my thoughts a lot and prayers for Tyler. I really hope he is still working his way home.
ReplyDeleteI would be great if Tyler got onto an old logging road followed it out. Perhaps ATV's/dirt bikes could look for clues. If you are organizing a ground search I am available to help. Stay positive, my thoughts are with Tyler's friends and family.
ReplyDeleteTyler is a guy who takes risks and stares failure in the eye, it's the risk takers that push us all forward... I love him, may we all be inspired to tackle the mountains in our lives...
ReplyDeleteBe filled with peace Tyler, until we find you or you find us - and make a good shelter :)
I was just driving by Pitt Lake today and the flyers are still up and hanging. :) If you need volunteers to do some things that don't result in volunteers getting hurt, then lets setup something to make it happen. :) I've been hiking in Squamish a couple times already.
ReplyDeleteWe were at the Pitt-Addington Marsh Area last Sunday (8-29) and saw some flyers there.
ReplyDeleteOur hearts go out to you Tyler, and your family.
I agree Noah and Sheri...Tyler is resourceful enough he could live in the woods for years :). Jesus help him find a logging road. We miss you and love you Tyler.
ReplyDeleteI don't know Tyler s well as others, but he made an impression on me and this situation has really challenged me to trust God and has pushed me to pray more than I have in my life.
ReplyDeleteIt means a lot to me when I see everyone else's messages of encouragement, and I'd like to thank all of you for posting.
I will keep praying, because that's what Tyler would do.
-Maki
